Que différencie une forme d’amour d’une autre?

Le chorégraphe israélien Mor Shani s’est inspiré du livre Art of Loving (1956) d’Erich Fromm pour imaginer Love-ism, une œuvre qui cherche à comprendre les différentes formes d’amour qui unissent les êtres humains. Après avoir présenté son œuvre en Hollande, il amorce une collaboration avec le cinéaste Paul Sixta  qui en fait un film d’une rare beauté. Ensemble, ils poursuivent la démarche de création sous la forme d’ateliers auprès de non-danseurs. Shani, qui désire sortir la danse des studios et la rendre accessible à tous, propose une forte expérience humaine à tous ceux qui se portent volontaires. Sixta, derrière la caméra, filme tous les instants magiques que ce groupe d’inconnus vivent grâce à l’improvisation et à l’expérimentation. Une occasion à ne pas manquer !

  • L’atelier gratuit se déroule sur deux jours, le samedi 19 septembre de 10h à 17h et le dimanche 20 septembre de 13h à 17h à l’Auditorium Roland-Arpin du Musée;
  • De 15 à 20 participants (débutants ou professionnels, jeunes ou moins jeunes);
  • L’atelier est donné dans le cadre de la projection du film Love-ism. Des séquences filmées lors de l’atelier pourraient être ajoutées au film.

What difference is there between one form of love and another?

The Israeli choreographer Mor Shani was inspired by Erich Fromm’s book Art of Loving (1956) to imagine Love-ism, a piece that attempts to understand the different forms of love that unite human beings. After presenting his work in the Netherlands, he started collaborating with the Dutch filmmaker Paul Sixta, who directed a film based on it, of a rare beauty. Together, they pursue their creative process in the form of workshops with non-professional dancers. Willing to bring the art of dancing out of the studios and to make it available to everyone, Shani offers a powerful human experience to all those who want to volunteer. Sixta, behind the camera, will capture all the magic moments that this group of strangers will experience through improvisation and experimentation. An opportunity no one should miss.

  • The workshop is free of charge and will take place over two days, Saturday September 19th from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday September 20th from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Auditorium Roland-Arpin in the Musée de la civilisation ;
  • Between 15 and 20 participants (beginners or professionals, young or not-so-young);
  • The workshop is organized within the framework of the screening of Love-ism. Sequences filmed during the workshop may be added to the film.
